Need a break from studying or work? Come along to our weekly social night and meet some fellow club members. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people and find others to go on hikes and other outdoor activities with!
The night is hosted in two parts:
Part 1 = 18:00-20:00 at The Ledge Climbing Centre. This is an indoor climbing gym that others both top rope and bouldering that offers. It’s only an $8 entry fee for club members if you do wish to climb, or FREE if you won’t be doing any climbing. We encourage anyone and everyone to come along, there will always be people there who just came for a chat and won’t be climbing.
Part 2 = At around 8pm, we all head off to the Forest Lodge Hotel pub for dinner. The Forest Lodge offers plenty of delicious options, my person favorites are the Southern Fried Chicken Pocket, Falafel Buddha Bowl (vegetarian) and sweet potato fries (for sharing).
This event is for everyone, not just the climbers. The Ledge is a very small climbing gym and just about everyone there on the night will be from our club (or at least know about it anyway). It’s a great way to meet new like-minded people and connect with others who might make for good camping/outdoor buddies. You’ll also have an opportunity to meet some of our Trip Leaders and ask any questions you might have. 🙂
Cost: $8 general entry (if climbing/bouldering, otherwise free) to the Ledge upon presentation of proof of UTS OAC membership. No need to hire a harness, we have OAC harnesses you can borrow.
Getting there/parking: If you’re coming from UTS/Central, there are plenty of buses that go down Broadway which you can catch. It’s also only a 20-minute walk from UTS so super convenient if you have class that day. If you’re driving, the best place to park your car is street parking somewhere around the Forest Lodge Hotel. Parking at USyd is paid.
