(Cancelled) Mountain Biking – Confident Beginner

Due to the rain forecast and Track closures unfortunatley this event has been cancelled.

We will be riding The Oaks Trail in the Blue Mountains. The Oaks is a popular mountain biking route in the Blue Mountains it has a mix of firetrail and single track. Whilst this ride is beginner friendly, it is 28km and does have some hills, so moderate fitness is required. Must be able to ride a bike, and be comfortable with riding on firetrails.

BYO Mountain Bike or Bike’s are available to hire from: https://www.bluemountainbikes.com.au/concierge-hire-service/

You will be responsible for sourcing your own Mountain bike whether you hire through the above service or bring your own. It must be a mountain or gravel bike and not a road bike, road bikes are simply not designed for the surfaces we will be riding on. Do not show up without a bike pre-organised. If you are bringing your own make sure you check the brakes work, the gears change and the tyres stay inflated for at least 24hrs. If you turn up with a bike that does not work, you will not be coming on the ride.

We will ride from Woodford to Glenbrook and then catch the train back to Woodford. Important to bring 2 litres of water and some snacks to keep you going throughout the ride, as well as any tools/tubes you need to fix a flat tyre. We will ride as a group and will only go as fast as the slowest person.

As we are catching the train back to Woodford, please bring opal card or some way of paying for train ticket.
